Crafting the Perfect Gallery Wall

Can you have too many gallery walls in your home?  Ya know, those walls with a clever scattering of well curated pictures.  I've been in my new house less than a month and I already have 4.  I have a lot of pictures what can I say.

I spent the day working on this little collage.  My favorite types of gallery walls are those that incorporate different color frames, different shapes and art from different periods.  I have everything from paintings my mother did as a child to posters of my husband's band.  I'm liking the way it looks.

I have been pinning gallery walls like a mad woman looking for inspiration.  One of my favorites was this eclectic wall over on Taylor Made.  I like how all her pieces are very close together making them look like one big piece of art.

In my game room I have displayed my family portrait illustrations.  Gallery walls are such a nice way to showcase family pictures.  Mine just happen to be illustrations for the most part.

Speaking of a gallery wall showcasing family portrait check out this beautiful canvas collage from The Crafty Chicks. Jamie chose to order canvas wrapped portraits of her children.  I love the way the 9 portraits form a perfect square.

I thought my kid's bathroom was the perfect spot for yet another gallery wall.  I mainly used pictures from my son's old nursery.  My mother even converted his old curtains into a new shower valance.  I love the way it looks, maybe I will do a gallery wall in the master bathroom too.  Did we ever decide if you could have too many gallery walls in one house?  Oh who cares.

The Domestic Fashionista built a gallery wall around her wall hung flat screen TV.  Televisions can really be an eye sore, but with the right styling you hardly notice them.  Once I mount my TV to the wall in my bedroom it might be time for you guessed it, another gallery wall.

I leave you with one more gallery wall from the Learner Observer.  Thalita that clever mynx traces her frames onto newspaper first and tapes those pieces of paper to the wall to make sure she gets the exact design she wants.  I'm a cut twice measure once kinda gal, so there are a LOT of nail holes in my wall.  However, this is a great idea and perhaps I should take her advice.

Do you have a gallery wall in your home?  Do you think there is such a thing as too many in one home?  Wait, don't answer that last question I don't want to know.
