The Truth About Becoming "That Mom"

All the time, I hear people conclude stories with "and then I became That Mom." You can hear the capital letters in their voices. Clearly, this is the mom that no mother wants to be. She is That Mom.

Every single time, I think, Wait, which mom? Because That Mom seems to encompass every type of parenting cliche imaginable. Sometimes, it's hard for me to predict which one they mean.

That Mom who lets her kids eat things in the store before they've been paid for?

That Mom who screams viciously at her children in a parking lot?

That Mom who re-gifted the super-annoying toy their child got for their birthday?

That Mom who weeps openly in the checkout line at Target?
